The Man Who Thought He Was A Baboon

The Man Who Thought He Was A Baboon

Teenage Hugo had no idea that howling at the moon like a wolf would turn him into the black sheep. The brutal punishment that followed from his family became a shame he vowed to keep to himself.

Adult Hugo, far removed from his dark childhood, now lives a quiet life with his wife, Summer… til one event changes everything: the eye-watering inheritance left to him by his beloved aunt.

Summer and the newly-hired village doctor start to carefully convince Hugo that he's a baboon.

If only Hugo had kept that secret to himself.

A high-end performed reading, integrating the work of visual artist Vivien Delta.

Theatre Company Reviews:

Praise for Somi De Souza:

“Her quirky and poignant storytelling encourages examination of how we perceive one another and ourselves.” - Clarke Peters (Hollywood Actor recently featured in ‘Da 5 Bloods’ and ‘Three Billboards’ and Playwright of ‘Five Guys Named Moe’)

“One of Somi's gifts is to tell a big story in a small setting. I found all the characters solid and credible. I can believe in anything if I can believe in the characters.” - Charles Shaar Murray (Legendary NME Music Journalist and Critic, Broadcaster, Author)

Derren Brown (Mentalist, illusionist, author and painter) - "I'm in awe at how you keep it constantly feeling lively and fresh and inventive and interesting... Somi is an extraordinary beating heart to the whole thing."
