Barefoot

Barefoot

"No, no I am not crazy! The fact that I hear and see things you don’t, doesn’t mean I am crazy! And being crazy is relative! Who can tell if one is really sane?"

A man in the prime of his life is obsessed with his career and believes that while a person is alive he must build a fortune. But one day the simple act of buying a pair of shoe changes his life forever. The performance speaks about the disease of the modern man: forever in a hurry to meet expectations and cover expenses, but forgetting what is important in life. The main character is a former workaholic lost in his ambition to win. And when the means become a goal, one stops dreaming.

Barefoot is a monodrama play by Yavor Gigov inspired by Pierre Gripari story. It had its world premiere on the 18th of May, 2015 at the State Puppet Theatre in Sofia, Bulgaria.

"From this very moment, I started hearing the surrounding world in a different way. From that moment, miracles became part of my world, and I wasn’t surprised anymore."
