Halfpace Theatre Devising Jam

This devising jam is a monthly session for artists to come and flex their creative muscles in a collaborative, welcoming environment. Whether you are an experienced deviser, are just starting out, or have no idea what devised theatre is (but are curious to find out), this is a space for practitioners to come together and test out ideas and techniques without the pressure of making a show at the end. Each session will involve skill sharing, testing out techniques, and space for participants to bring any ideas (half-baked or fully formed) that they want to test out in a low-risk environment.

Bring water and movement clothes, as well as anything that has inspired you lately - from music to paintings to poems to strange objects, anything and everything can be a seed for a devised piece. These devising jams are flexible and will be adjusted depending on the interest and needs of the participants in the room.

Run by Halfpace Theatre, a theatre company dedicated to devised and new work by underrepresented artists.
