The Laundry

The Laundry

Well where else would you find women…

The exploration of the amazing connection of women in adversity, in friendship, in life in general, intertwined across the generations. The Laundry looks at the struggles three women have faced over their lives, which become more complex the more they care for each other - sometimes leading to healing, sometimes their destruction, but their strength is undeniable. Women within women, replicating Russian dolls as each story reveals itself and the journeys begin.

A play in two parts, by Nicole Palomba and Audrey Thayer, with sections lifted from Matryoshka by Brandon Force. The three contributing writers graduated from the same university, years apart, and met separately after moving to London. Each explores a facet of women, past, present and future. This is their first collaboration.

The Laundry is directed by Tracy Collier, who has been a Director and Choreographer since 1984. Her work has included Shakespeare plays, Musical Theatre, Physical Theatre and, strangely, Radio. She has also created her own work with her company Time4Change Theatre.
